What is NEUROFEEDBACK?

WHAT IS NEUROFEEDBACK?
BrainCore Neurofeedback Therapy is based on a simple concept – When you have information on what your brainwaves are doing, your brain can use that information to change how it works.  BrainCore Therapy provides a unique, drugless and non-invasive treatment for the symptoms of many neurological based conditions including: ADHD/ADD | Headaches | Migraines | Insomnia | Fibromyalgia | Traumatic Brain Injury | Panic Attacks | Anxiety Disorders | Learning Disorders | Memory Loss | Autism | Asperger’s Syndrome | Post Stroke | PTSD
What is BrainCore Neurofeedback?
Braincore is a guided exercise for the brain. It is a learning modality designed to retrain dysregulated brainwave patterns and transform them into healthy, regulated patterns. By doing this, the brain becomes more stable and is able to operate more efficiently.
How Does BrainCore Work?
Patients are guided through games, movies, puzzles and sounds on a computer screen that help to retrain the dysregulated brainwaves. The process is completly non-invasive and results are permanent!

Regatta Chiropractic & Laser Center has partnered with Move Strong Destin to offer two AMAZING opportunities to achieve the body of your dreams.

With the introduction of the Verjú laser system, we are able to prove a greater outcome in less treatment time. Verjú safely causes the release of fatty lipids from within fat cells causing the fat cells to collapse and shrink to a smaller size, which reduces the circumference and the appearance of cellulite. The fatty lipids then enter the lymphatic system where they are broken into free fatty acids and used as energy in the cardiovascular system. The Verjú laser system penetrates the skin to treat hypertrophic adipocytes while increasing dermal collagen and stabilizing the fibrotic septae collagen.

Move Strong Destin will help you quickly melt away the inches around your waistline, firm your butt, hips and thighs so you can feel AND look great. All in HALF the time of ordinary fitness programs and without spending hours in the gym, starving yourself or fad diets.

Could Neurofeedback be the Answer to Anxiety?

Is Neurofeedback the Answer to Anxiety?

Anxiety presents itself as a response to overwhelming stress in a person’s life. The stress can come from psychological, physical or health problems. When a person is suffering from extreme stress even environmental sources, like loud, abrupt noises, can bring on anxiety and possibly a panic attack. If the stress is not dealt way in a positive manner, then a person’s brain gets locked into a pattern of anxiety. This pattern can be difficult to break on its own.

Neurofeedback offers physiological assistance to help people learn to change their reaction to stress. The brain training acquired in neurofeedback helps people develop the skills they need to significantly reduce or eliminate anxiety in their daily lives. Brain training been used for many years with solid, proven results in individuals suffering from anxiety.

Recognizing Anxiety

People suffering from anxiety engage in excessive worrying, a constant sense of fear, restlessness, are overly reactive, think negatively and defensive. They can’t stop thinking. As a result, anxiety sufferers often feel overwhelmed, tired and stressed out. Anxiety is usually present in cases of an individual who has an addiction, is overly controlling and has underlying behavioral issues.

Some people dealing with anxiety appear outwardly nervous but many sufferers are calm on the outside, but their brain never stops worrying. If the anxiety is not dealt with, it can lead to sleep problems and can negatively affect the quality of their life. People who suffer from anxiety don’t live in the present, instead they constantly are worried about the future or the past.

Neurofeedback: A Safer Alternative to Medication

Anxiety patients are regularly prescribed medications, but prescription drugs can’t teach you how to quiet your mind. Medications can affect the entire brain, even parts of the brain that does not need help. Prescription medications can also cause also cause other issues:

Medications only work when you are taking them and some are highly addictive.
Medication without having other behavior management tools will not prevent anxiety from returning.

When medications may stop working or side effects appear, doctors may switch to a different one. This can lead to further agitation, stress and confusion in anxiety suffers. As the brain learns to decrease anxiety through neurofeedback, often less medication is needed.

Teaching people the skill to calm themselves is a far more effective solution than just taking drugs.

How Does Neurofeedback Reduce Anxiety?

Neurofeedback is easy to learn and one of the quickest and most efficient ways for people to learn how to recognize anxiety triggers and how to reduce the negative response to stress.

The neurofeedback practitioner places electrodes on the patient’s head. The electrodes are connected to an EEG computer monitor and patients are able to watch their brainwaves. As anxiety sufferers learn to reduce anxiety and increase calm, they can watch their brainwaves change. With neurofeedback, they learn to recreate a calmer state and moderate their response to stress. The anxiety is reduced and happens less frequently with each training session. With sufficient training, the brain learns to maintain healthier patterns on its own more consistently.

As the brain learns, patients can reduce the number of brain training sessions.  While most people can stop training once they reach their goal, a small number of sufferers with persistent anxiety may require occasional sessions to reach personal goals in anxiety reduction.

Meet “The Green Lantern”

The world’s first and only low level green laser approved by the FDA for non-invasive body contouring of the waist, hips and thighs.

With the introduction of the Verjú laser system, we are able to prove a greater outcome in less treatment time. By updating the laser diodes to the green diodes (hence "The Green Lantern" ) used in the Verjú, we can effectively deliver an even more efficient non-invasive treatment for body slimming and a proven comprehensive treatment for the appearance of cellulite. The updated technology allows Verjú to produce 25% more energy than that of the previously used red (635nm wavelength), to allow for even faster treatment times and a 25% increase in overall circumference reduction.

The remarkable Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) images above demonstrate the 532 nm low-level laser’s ability to drain and collapse fat cells and liquefy adipose tissue.

  • There are 6 green Verju lights.
  • Patients lie on the massage table and the green lasers are carefully aligned to treat problem areas or cellulite.
  • For most a woman areas of focus include the abdomen and thighs. Men usually want to focus on chest and abdomen.
  • Patients are treated for 20 minutes while they lie on their back. Then patients are asked to turn over to treat the back.
  • Following the treatment patients then receive a short massage with a patented roller device to push the released fat away from the empty fat cells. The released fat needs to be helped away from the fat cells to avoid it being taken up again by the empty fat cells.

Consultations at Regatta Chiropractic & Laser Center are complimentary. If you'd like to schedule a consultation please visit our website or call our office at (850) 424-7856.

Storing Fat: Men vs. Women

There are many things that make men and women different physiologically, and the fact that we carry and metabolize fat differently is no surprise. Although these differences can be frustrating and puzzling for some, no gender has the upper hand in this situation. It’s just that our bodies were designed differently, and for good reason.
